I have seen many men come in dress pants and shirts and women in skirts/pants and blouses and I never thought much about it. I would be totally okay if women show up in sheath dress without a blazer. It would bother me if some one shows up in jeans, t-shirts , shorts, low neckline, too much make up etc.
If you don’t like that silhouette then just skip the short jacket. If you wear it with an aline skirt it may also work.
